    Description

    Fine Antique Art Nouveau Carved Shell Cameo Goddess Flora in 10k Gold Mount, c 1900.  Cameo is carved in exquisite detail in high relief using three layers of the shell, with the top orange layer of the shell used to highlight the roses in her hair and the bodice of her gown.  The details of the carving remain crisp and finely show the Goddess' hair, the roses in her hair, her classic Greek profile, and the folds of her gown.  Truly a wearable work of art.  The mount is hand wrought 10k Yellow Gold.  A wonderful example of Old World craftsmanship absent in today's mass manufactured pieces.
    The cameo brooch has its original pin and fold over locking c clasp which is in perfect working order.  The cameo measures approximately 2" x 1 1/2".  Weight is 10.2 grams.
