    You are buying a
    circa 1915-30 absolutely outstanding cutting 2” long x 1 1/8” wide HAND CARVED SHELL TYPE CAMEO. This is an unusual back side image and reverse direction cameo. Most cameos the image is of the lady from the front and she is usually turned right showing her side profile.  This piece is in a period RHODIUM PLATED MIXED METAL. The bail is original and medium sized so can accommodate a chain up to a 3 mm end guage. The original chain that would have gone with this would have been a rhodium filigree design. This could be a good piece for a jeweler who wants to reset this in either a sterling frame or gold frame.
    The
    condition is very good
    no cameo cracks, no hairlines, no chips. There is very very slight rhodium wear but nothing visible to the naked eye. This piece comes clean polished and ready to enjoy.
