You might call this the acne collection, and you would be right.
Komed lotion is listed as “an aid in the management of acne and acne pimples. This old bottle is pre-1978 as it has no expiration date. It was made by Barnes Hind laboratories of California. They still use Komed name today for eye preparations
Retin-A was popular as an aid to clear up severe acne. However, it was soon found to have more side effects and advantages and is seldom used except in extreme cases. This package expired in 1977.
Rezamid lotion, made by the Dermik company, though not a prescription item was usually prescribed by the doctor’s recommendation. It was used to treat and to hide acne and pimples and came with a color pack so you could match the color of the lotion to your skin tones. This package predates 1978 expiration date ruling.
Zetar Emulsion was made from crude coal tar and is used in the bath improve skin conditions. Used to tablespoons diluted with warm water, then again diluted with a tub of bathwater to soak the whole body. Coal tar was yucky stuff but did improve skin conditions.
